DALTEX Brings New Life to Portsmouth’s Historic Seafront
DALTEX is proud to have played a key role in the transformation of Portsmouth’s historic seafront, delivering specialist resin-bound surfacing across 980m² of beautiful sea frontage.
Located along Southsea Common in Portsmouth, this carefully considered restoration project is designed not only to strengthen coastal flood protection but also to preserve and enhance one of the South Coast’s most well-loved promenades. The work was carried out over approximately two weeks, carefully phased to minimise disruption while maintaining public access to this busy seafront location.
The project required materials of the highest quality, and the BBA-approved DALTEX PERFORMANCE RESIN BOUND SYSTEM was selected for its proven durability and reliability.
The design used refined detailing, crisp lines, sharp edges, and seamless transitions between surfaces to create the ‘wow’ factor.
The colour palette used were Golden Quartz 2/5mmm, Autumn Quartz 1/3mm and Brittany Bronze 1/3mm, each carefully selected to reflect the natural coastal environment. A blend of warm, neutral aggregates was used to complement the surrounding landscape, echoing the tones of the shoreline and the newly improved promenade. The result is a subtle, bespoke finish that is sympathetic to the site’s heritage setting.
DALTEX Performance UVR 7.5kg was combined with DALTEX Aggregates to ensure a high-quality finish that was expertly installed by Clearstone who are experienced in large scale Resin Bound surfacing.

Working within a live, high-footfall public space in Portsmouth presented logistical challenges, but the team at DALTEX Trade Centre Stalbridge worked closely together with Clearstone and with careful planning and efficient application, the DALTEX Performance UVR System was delivered on schedule.
